Meet Landon Michael: Sasser Restoration’s Summer Finance Intern
At Sasser Restoration, we believe internships are vital for students’ professional growth. They offer hands-on experience, bridge classroom learning with real-world applications, and facilitate networking with industry experts. Internships at Sasser play a key role in skill development and shaping students’ career paths, and we’re proud to provide a supportive environment for their growth.
Sasser Restoration welcomes Landon Michael, our summer finance intern! Michael is currently attending the College of Charleston in South Carolina where he is pursuing a major in accounting and minoring in computer science. Though Michael states that his future career plans are uncertain, he enjoys that both accounting and computer science offer him multiple paths to follow. Currently, however, his plans are to find a business that he enjoys working at that can provide opportunities to learn and grow.
Since starting his role in late May, Landon has said he has already learned many things. He states, “So far, I have learned multiple things at Sasser including software skills using Power BI, how the company operates (internally), and an understanding of different accounting policies.” Michael’s goals at Sasser are to help contribute to the team, develop skills he can utilize later in his professional career, and gather as much experience as he can before the summer ends.
Parker Makowski, one of Sasser’s financial analysts, works closely with Michael. He shares, “Michael is a valuable addition to our team, demonstrating strong attention to detail, a keen enthusiasm for learning, and a vibrant, energetic presence that enhances our team dynamics. I am enthusiastic about his future development at Sasser and beyond in his career journey.”
When asked about why he chose to apply to Sasser, Michael says, “Primarily the fact that the office is located close to home, so I get to spend the summer working an internship and still staying close to family. Also, I believe that due to Sasser being a part of the restoration business, there are unique experiences such as visiting job sites, working towards a customer’s goal, and the overall work that is provided that other businesses can’t offer.”
Some fun things that Michael is passionate about are sports, specifically college football, and any outdoor activities, such as fishing or doing manual work around his family farm. We are so excited to see what Michael achieves during his time at Sasser and in his future endeavors.
