Meet Connor Jacobs: Sasser’s Summer Project Accountant Intern
At Sasser Restoration, our commitment extends beyond restoration services; we aim to inspire and empower our team members, encouraging them to grow both personally and professionally. We believe in providing opportunities that allow individuals to explore their potential, innovate, and excel in their careers.
This summer, Sasser Restoration is excited to welcome three interns, one of whom is Connor Jacobs, our summer project accountant intern. Connor is currently studying at Waynesburg University, where he is majoring in finance with minors in accounting and marketing. Although he does not have any solid career plans yet, he knows he wants to find a job in finance that will allow him to use his skills and enjoy his work.
Since starting his role in late May, Connor has embraced the learning opportunities at Sasser. He shares, “so far, I’ve learned that it’s okay to ask questions if you don’t know the answer and to control the controllables.” His goals at Sasser are to “learn new skills and applications to help further my education in the business world.”
Linda Philipp, Sasser Restoration’s National Executive Project Assistant, has collaboratedwith Jacobs in his internship. When asked about Jacobs, Philipp states, “Connor has been instrumental in supporting our team and contributing to our company’s success. He has adeptly handled projects from our National and Texas locations and assisted our Headquarters with Special Projects and Compliance – lien laws, audits, licensing research, Certificates of Insurance, and Sales Tax requirements. His can-do attitude, coupled with his excellent research and feedback skills, has significantly enhanced our operational efficiency and compliance processes.”
Connor found out about Sasser through Wes Hershelman, Sasser’s Director of Finance, who attended a Waynesburg University job fair in the fall of 2023. It was there that Connor learned more about Sasser Restoration and the opportunities available. When asked why he chose to apply to Sasser, he states, “Wes Hershelman and Linda Philipp showed me what a fantastic opportunity it was to intern at Sasser. They explained the mission of Sasser and how we can help people.”
In addition to his academic and professional interests, Connor is passionate about golf, watching professional sports such as the NHL, MLS, and MLB, and spending time with friends. We are thrilled to have Connor on our team and look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes this summer.
