Asbestos Abatement Case Study

Asbestos Containing Materials Found in a Healthcare Facility

Industry

Project Overview

Sasser Restoration’s North Carolina Abatement Manager, Peter Carlberg, has over 39 years of experience in asbestos abatement. During his tenure, he has handled abatement projects of all sizes in different environments, including an active VA hospital.

In one particular case, he was called to provide abatement to three floors of a hospital, spanning 27,000 square feet. There was mastic in the floor tile and asbestos containing materials were found in pipe insulation as well.

During this project, Peter and his team worked under tight deadlines and strict infection control prevention protocols.

With an active Operating Room directly below the project, it was imperative that the team follow all safety protocols, ensure containment was properly set and maintained, and work closely with the onsite team to ensure clear communication and execute on timeline and budget.
