Project Overview
When a well-respected NC-based real estate developer decided to renovate a 100-year-old building on Main Street, no one thought that the building was in danger of any collapse. When a very large wood truss broke during the early morning hours in early July 2022, the result was a severely damaged building in a very high-traffic area. Sasser was brought in for their expertise to manage the site and employ the appropriate specialties to stabilize the building and complete the necessary selective demolition to keep the area safe.
Sasser worked diligently to secure the area with temporary fencing, removing unstable building materials with a specialty sub, carefully hand removing the approximately 40,000 pounds of debris and then erecting temporary walls and roofs.
